If you are a practitioner it is worth contacting your LEA or local university to find out about any initiatives in your area.Collaborative Action Research Network A network for professional development, CARN aims to encourage and support action research projects (personal, local, national and international), and contributes to the theory and methodology of action research. Essex Forum for Learning and Research Enquiry The site provides information about Essex LEA's research initiatives for practitioners. Learning and Skills Research Network The aims of the network include raising the profile of research across the learning and skills sector, increasing the volume and quality of research, as well as increasing the applicability of research findings. Learning and Teaching Support Network This network aims to improve the link between teaching and research. It is helping achieve this through the creation of generic support materials and a framework including ideas and strategies for supporting disciplinary communities in linking teaching in research both in this country and worldwide. Evidence Network The Evidence Network is a web-based network providing information on key developments and opportunities in evidence informed policy and practice research. OECD CERI "Teach the Brain" Teacher Forum This forum provides an opportunity for teachers from all academic levels and neuroscientists to discuss issues such as: How much do emotions influence learning? Can adults learn to learn? Which teaching methods could help children to reduce dyslexia and dyscalculia? When should students start learning a second language? Are you ready to change to a different pedagogical system? Could neuroscience’s discoveries help to improve teaching methods?
