The Forum
After its first phase in which a wide range of issues were explored and booklets published, NERF reorganised in 2005 to focus on detailed work on selected practical issues of major importance for policy and practice.
The role of the Forum was to stimulate action, based on what had been achieved in its earlier phase. This culminated in strategic proposals for educational research, submitted to the Secretary of State in 2003.
Meetings were held approximately every two months. Biographies of the members are also available.
The Forum was complemented by a Development Group of research and development managers from the education service. This group was specifically formed to help the many organisations with responsibilities for developing the educational service to work together on how best to use and organise research.
