The Training and Development Agency for Schools (the TDA) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Education and Skills.
Our purpose is to raise children's standards of achievement and promote their well-being by improving the training and development of the whole school workforce.
- Ensure schools have an adequate supply of good-quality newly qualified teachers.
- Enable schools to develop the effectiveness of their support staff.
- Enable schools to develop the effectiveness of their teachers and keep their knowledge and skills up to date.
- Support schools to be effective in the management of training, development and remodelling of their workforce.
TDA supported research is searched and referenced via the Teacher Training Resource Bank (see associate organisations for further details). All resources on the TTRB are quality assured and have to meet inclusion criteria, which are outlined on its website.
