Using evidence for professional development
|
|
Evidence based approaches to professional development may involve:
- Identifying an issue or aspect of practice you want to change;
- Identifying suitable actions/ interventions/ changes to practice;
- Implementing one or more of these and
- Reflecting on how you put the changes into practice.
- Reflection
Existing evidence can play an important role in this process by:
- Helping you decide what you want to change (is it something others say is important)
- Helping you decide how to change your practice
- Providing models for how to implement the changes
- Providing comparators when you measure the impact of your change.
