Miniguide: Finding evidence
|
|
What do I need to know and where can I find it?
|
|
What is evidence?
There are many different types of evidence source, for example:
- Ourselves and colleagues – drawing on personal experiences
- Good practice recommended by colleagues, or in reports following inspection
- Management data/information
- Action research
- Evaluation and research
eep and the Evidence Support Programme (ESP) are primarily concerned with helping you find, understand and use evidence collected from structured evaluation and research activities ( including practitioner led research).

Making evidence-informed decisions means finding, understanding and using evidence that is relevant, robust and unbiased. Finding this evidence begins with deciding:
- what you need to find
- where you think you will find it
- how to search for it
