It is expected that support for people wishing to make more use of evidence will be developed during the next phase of eep development. This will be undertaken in conjunction with the Evidence for Education programme of CFBT Education Trust. It is hoped to include:
- Navigation to networks that encourage the use of evidence
- Guidance on how to assess and use evidence effectively
One source of support is the Intute Virtual Training Suite developed by qualified tutors, lecturers and librarians from across the UK funded by JISC. It provides free Internet tutorials to help you learn how to get the best from the Web for your education and research.
Each tutorial covers Internet search and research skills for a different subject. Each tutorial enables you to:
- TOUR the best of the Web for your subject
See the sites that can help with your course work.
- DISCOVER how to search the Internet effectively
Find the best search tools and techniques.
- JUDGE which websites are worth using for research
Learn how to avoid common pitfalls on the Internet, by critically evaluating the information you find.
- Read SUCCESS stories to inspire you
See some practical examples of how others are using the Internet to support their research and studies. See the home page at: http://www.vts.intute.ac.uk/about/
An area of the Intute Training Suite has been written specially for education. The material is written by colleagues from the library at the Institute of Education in London.
